Casa Pubblica
"Casa Pubblica"(Public House) is a participatory art project that took shape in August 2024 in the municipality of Laives and was exhibited in its first phase from 7 to 14 September 2024 during the "Identity in motion" Festival of the lasecondaluna Association.
Casa Pubblica is an attempt to inhabit public space and feel it more as ours, part of us. With this objective, the artist Micol Grazioli visited the homes of the citizens of Laives, photographing a portion of their floor. These floors, once printed, are intended to cover the public space, like a giant puzzle, in search of a square or a place to meet and live the community.
On 7 September, for the opening of the Festival, the participants brought their floor into the public space, in search of a place to inhabit and live together.

Casa Pubblica
Casa Pubblica explores the relationship between individual and public space through photography and dialogue. Through informal encounters, the artist Micol Grazioli collected images of intimate spaces in the homes of the inhabitants of Laives, focusing particularly on the floor.
The question posed to the residents, “In which part of the house do you feel good? Why?”, prompted a reflection on the link between domestic space and well-being. Each encounter ended with a photograph of the floor section of the room described. The artist then collected oral testimonies for the next phase of the project, which leads to a participatory dimension: the collected images, assembled in a large modular mosaic and installed in the public space during the days of the festival, will form a “collective floor”. It will be the people who choose the places where to position the pieces of the photographic collage, transforming personal stories into a shared experience. Each piece represents a fragment of everyday life, contributing to a narrative of stories, emotions and anecdotes that enriches the urban landscape and fosters a sense of community. Micol Grazioli recreates a domestic space within the public space, giving new meanings to the concept of home as a symbol of identity.
